The youth advisory council of the World Oceans Day is looking for 15 new young ocean leaders from around the world to take the council to a total of 25 members.

The World Oceans Day Youth Advisory Council was created in the year 2016 to develop World Oceans Day into a special way of linking up youth around the globe for a better future with oceans that can sustain all human beings no matter their location.

Each member of the council is expected to serve in a team that will develop a youth led project to be used by youth on World Oceans Day. The council members are also expected to actively engage with other youth leaders within the Youth4the Ocean network through virtual training sessions and social media to successfully implement their projects.

The members will have a task of sharing World Oceans Day social media posts and develop at least 1 blog post each year. Members will also have a task of representing the council at conferences, events and other important meetings throughout the year. The members should expect to spend an average of 10 hours per month on activities of the council.



-Applicants should be 16 to 22 years old.

-Applicants must be able to make a two year commitment.

-Most importantly, applicants must have a passion for ocean conservation.
