University of Witwatersrand has a school of public health which has an epidemiology and bio-statistics department. It provides training in statistics and epidemiology. The program for successful applicants is to begin in 2019.Applicants have a list of the following five courses to choose from:
1. Field epidemiology.
2. Public health informatics.
3. Infectious diseases epidemiology.
4. Epidemiology and bio-statistics.
5. Bio-statistics and implementation science.

Requirements for application of the scholarship

The applicant must be able to commit to work for at least three years in a National public health institute in any of the fifty five member-states of the African Union after graduating.
-Applicant must be working with a National public health institute.
-Applicant must be nominated by a National public health institute as a citizen of any of the member-states of the African  Union.
-Applicant must be a citizen or student from the fifty five member-states of the African Union.
-Applicant must be a good English speaker and writer.
-Applicant must not be older than 35 years old by August 31ST 2018.
-Applicant should have evidence of admission to study the full-time master program at the university.
-Applicant must have a Honor’s degree or its equivalent in a relevant field which must be from a recognized and fully accredited university.

-Tuition fees will be directly paid to the university.
-A monthly allowance to cover costs of the necessary text-books and learning soft wares.
-A monthly allowance to cover costs of accommodation.
-Medical and accident insurance covers will be provided.
-A direct return flight payment yearly.
-Support towards costs of a laptop.
-Support for research project expenses.

Documents to be included or attached in the application
-A recent passport size photograph.
-A copy of the national identification card or passport.
-Copies of academic transcripts and certificates.
-A curriculum vitae (CV)

-Names and contacts of referees must be included. The CV must have details of work experience and relevant research.
-Applications should be sent by both email and post.
